Can not get SoundFlow v2 to work.

    Hi there.

I've downloaded build 2 and none of the usual, new or old, commands work anymore.

Right now I'm trying the free "cloud option". Do I need a paying subscription to be able the use the program at all? If I want to use build 2 that is?

Or Is there a setting, besides the "Integrity Setting", that I've missed or messed up?

    1. To anyone else reading this, Nicklas is referring to the new v2 of SoundFlow (most likely he's on newest beta; 2.0.0-beta.3.38)

Nicklas, thanks for your post. There are a couple of things to be aware of when switching from the old SoundFlow Shortcuts to the new product - which is just called SoundFlow.
First point is - SoundFlow is an entirely new product. We originally thought that SoundFlow should be the overall brand name, then having all the features divided up into separate apps - SoundFlow Shortcuts, SoundFlow Sync, SoundFlow Library, SoundFlow Designer etc. But we found out that it didn't really make sense, since part of what makes all these features work well is that they work well together.
This was the birth of the redesigned and rearchitectured SoundFlow.

SoundFlow also is different from the old SoundFlow Shortcuts in that it is (for now) primarily a cloud based subscription product - named SoundFlow Cloud.
There are a number of reasons for why we chose this. Important factors include that we want to build in cloud collaboration features directly into SF as well as a number of other types of features that benefit from a networked approach (more on this in later posts). To fix any problems this would cause for facilities that need to be offline for contractual reasons, we will later be beta testing SoundFlow Facility which works together with an offline private cloud component; SoundFlow Facility Server.
Just as important, we wanted to be able to keep pushing out new features, continously updating SF to match most recent PT version, all without having to wait months or even years until we can charge users upgrade prices. Charging for upgrades and delaying features in our minds is an outdated business model. Also, since the volume at which we can sell SF so far isn't going to be very big, it is important to secure a steady stream of revenue to make sure we keep development going - that's in everybody's interest.

In the v2+ (since SoundFlow is continuously updated, version number won't stay at 2, it will just keep updating with our rolling releases) we have 2-3 subscription types:
      SoundFlow Cloud Free
      SoundFlow Cloud Indie
      SoundFlow Cloud Pro

The Free subscription is completely free - but so far we haven't yet selected which commands to include in this version. So right now you can do next to nothing with it. This will be fixed before we go out of beta.
The Indie subscription is the closest match to the functionality you had in the old SoundFlow Shortcuts product. However with hundreds of added new commands.
The Pro subscription has everything that's in the Indie subscription, and in addition to that it includes MIDI triggers, device triggers, custom scripts, sharing of script packages, will include our iPad+macOS surface/gui designer, our reconform + AI-based auto dialogue edit tools and much much more. Some of these functions are still in different stages of research/prototyping/alpha/beta cycles, but will be added to the Pro subscription when available.

So yes, to sum it up and to answer your question more directly; you'll need at least an Indie subscription to try out the commands you'd like. The first month of your subscription is a free trial - no charges will be made in that first month. You can cancel or change your subscription at any time from your control panel at soundflow.org, or via the My Account page directly in the SoundFlow app.
I would recommend you start by trying out the Pro subscription so you have access to all features to see what could be interesting for you.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions about this, and thanks again for wanting to try out the new SoundFlow.

      1. Pro subscription also has support for different trigger profiles etc.

All user settings in SoundFlow Cloud are stored in the cloud, so you can log in to your SoundFlow account from any computer that has SoundFlow installed and you'll have access to all your commands, shortcuts, etc. instantly.

            Great.

            Thank you for your answer.

I'll give the Pro Subscription a try then.
