Hi there, I'm trying to map Pro Tools fader to a MIDI controller based on the instructions here: https://soundflow.org/docs/workflows/controlling-pro-tools-faders-from-any-midi-device.
In part C, it says to "paste the following code into the script editor". I've tried that and the error message "TypeError: Cannot read property '0' of null (MIDI Faders line 5)" pops up whenever I run the command. How can I go about doing this?

Hi @Sheryl_Chee,
Thanks for asking here in the forum.
It seems that the tutorial you are following needs some updating (It was created with an older version of SoundFlow.) I'll update it tonight and get back to you.
Rock on!

Hi @Sheryl_Chee,
I have updated the tutorial and placed it in the Tutorials section of the forum. Here is the Link;
Keep me posted if after following the updated tutorial you still experience issues.

Hey Kitch, you're an absolute legend!
I managed to adjust one fader level using the MIDI controller now. The other 7 however are not moving even though the tracks are highlighted in PT. Inside Soundflow, I've already assigned the MIDI triggers on the other 7 faders. Am I missing a step?Kitch Membery @Kitch2021-03-23 06:28:33.609Z
Good to see we're making progress.
I can see from your screenshot you are assigning each of the faders as a trigger. There's no need for multiple trigger assignements.
So, remove the triggers you added for Channel 2 - 8. You only need to assign the first fader and the remaining faders should work. (assuming they all send out individual CC values, ie CC Fader 1 = 15 => Fader 8 = 22).
Let me know if that works.
I only have one fader to test this, unfortunately.

Hi Kitch, I'm trying to set this up (thanks to your revised tutorial!), but I can't see any soundflow HUI options in my "receive" column. Do you have any tips on where it's going wrong?
.
Kitch Membery @Kitch2021-03-24 01:09:33.822Z
You're welcome @Andrew_Sherman,
That is odd that the HUI output is missing.
Have you installed the latest drivers for your midi device?
Other than that I'm not sure how I could troubleshoot the issue, You could maybe ask on the Avid DUC. It may have been asked before.
Rock on!

I just had a look. It seems like all the other faders all send out the same CC values (15 in my case). Does this mean that they won't be able to control the channel faders separately and individually?

Hi Sheryl_Chee
If you can get a hold of the manual for the RODEcaster Pro and send me a link I can look to see if there is a setting to change the CC messages that it is sending.
Rock on!

Excuse me for cutting in,
I'm in the same situation. My Controller is MINILAB mk2 by ARTURIA
Her output CC is
like this.
Probably most MIDI devices have the CC numbers not aligned correctly like this.
By the way, when I assigned #74 to the first fader, moving the knob on #75 did not move the second fader.
I need help
please
